Nightmare?
"Have you ever woken up and realized that you dream-cheated?" -John Mayer admits to making out with another woman in his dreams (sorry, Jennifer Aniston). But despite confessing to being scandalous in his sleep - and having a shaved head - he did give an amazing concert last Saturday.

The Heart of Life

Love turns the whole thing around.
No, it won't all go the way it should,
But I know the heart of life is good."

"All children need a laptop. Not a computer, but a human laptop. Moms, Dads, Grannies and Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles – someone to hold them, read to them, teach them. Loved ones who will embrace them and pass on the experience, rituals and knowledge of a hundred previous generations. Loved ones who will pass to the next generation their expectations of them, their hopes, and their dreams." - General Colin Powell

Sunny Day
"The sun was the blessing of the morning, the one celebrating element, an aesthete with no purpose except to shed radiance. Everything else was sharp and hard, but this Grecian sun evoked joy from every angularity and blurred with brightness the stiff face of the countryside." -A Separate Peace
Enjoying some sunshine and the NC mountains this weekend...

"You're not tethered? Doesn't that make you a loose woman?" -my boss's response upon finding out my other boss is not tethered (connected) to the office network from her blackberry.

That's Tight!

"I know my poor bike transition time was due to the fact that I couldn't get my sexy underarmor shirt on quickly. I think for the next tri, I'm going to get one of those even sexier one-piece tri suits." -my favorite Reston Runner analyzes the race :)

"Two things scare me. The first is getting hurt. But that's not nearly as scary as the second, which is losing." -Lance Armstrong
Triathlon today (unfortunately the odds of getting hurt and losing are quite high).

Once You Pop...
What Uppingham kids get up to during prep time.
Dunno know if I should be upset they're not working, or proud of their video editing (not to mention Pringle popping) skills. Oh, boarding school life...

"If I just perch right here, can you see anything you're not supposed to?" -a random Australian woman who called me over specifically to look down her shirt. Kinda weird, no?

Dinner Table Conversation
"There's nothing wrong with the word sex." -my mother (if you know my mother, you'll find this funny). She was defending herself after we laughed at her for explaining that politics, religion and sex are topics not to discuss when meeting someone for the first time. We agreed with her statement, but laughed because I don't think any of us had ever heard her say the word so casually before.

"BORN TO SEW" -tattooed on the arm of a frumpy old woman at the gym ... below a poorly drawn sewing machine. Odd.
